Distance Learning By Design

Focus on distance learning pedagogy in a hi-flex classroom with engagement strategies and tools, resources, tech tools and set up tips. Get ideas to make interactive learning experiences easy to use, manage and deploy. Explore integration ideas such as virtual field trips, guest lecturers, co-teaching and student to student collaboration as a way to explode classroom walls and make learning relevant.  

WORKSHOP SERIES–Offered three times per year in the Summer, Fall or Winter. The workshop consists of 3/1 hour virtual meetings once a week and approximately three hours of study on your own.

Integrating Distance Learning in the School for Administrators and IT Personnel

Using the SAMR framework for technology implementation, assess your school’s use and needs and long term plan for fully redefining teaching and learning with interactive learning experiences facilitated by technology. Get ideas for simplifying technology, supporting teachers and far site facilitators, and offering unique classes and experiences through co-teaching, remote teaching and bringing experts into the classroom. 

INTEGRATION WORKSHOP–Offered twice per school year in the summer and winter.  2/1 hour sessions with approximately 1-2 hours of work on your own.

Far-site Facilitation 

This monthly virtual meeting and on-demand series is designed for teachers and paraprofessionals who will be supporting a remote teacher.  The series runs for 3 months and is repeated. The workshop covers responsibilities of a far-end facilitator, tech tools and set up tips, how to successfully plan with the remote teacher, and develop back-up plans for accommodations and technology trouble. The training compliments the Collaborative Teaching workshop. 

FACILITATION SERIES- Participants will have access to on-demand training materials and the 3 Webinar series with Q&A.  It is recommended that participants attend the Distance Learning by Design Workshop Series also.

Collaborative Teaching 

Elevate your teaching and redefine technology use in the classroom by creating a collaborative teaching and learning experience with another teacher–no matter where they are located.  This three hour workshop will help you with the practical planning, pedagogy, and technology components to get you up and running. The workshop facilitators are teachers who have co-taught for several years and can help you avoid the pitfalls, organize your technology and understand how to get your students on board for a richer experience. This workshop is also ideal for those teachers opening their classrooms to far-site students. 

Co-teachers should both attend. The Distance Learning by Design workshop is also recommended and this compliments the Far-site Facilitation Workshop.

COLLABORATIVE TEACHING WORKSHOP–This 3 hour workshop is offered twice a year before first semester and second semester.
